EO | Earth Observation | The gathering of information about the planet's physical, chemical, and biological systems via remote-sensing technologies, typically satellites. |
EODH | Earth Observation Data Hub | NCEO led initiative for provision of UK capability in Earth Observation. |
EOX | EOX | Name of company and prefix for platform being used by TPZ to provide data services. |
GeoJSON | GeoJSON | A format for encoding a variety of geographic data structures using JSON. |
IAM | Identity and Access Management | A framework of policies and technologies to ensure that the right individuals access the right resources at the right times. |
JSON | JavaScript Object Notation | A lightweight data-interchange format, easy for humans to read and write, and easy for machines to parse and generate. |
LST | Land Surface Temperature | The temperature of the Earth's surface as measured by satellites or other sensors. |
MVP | Minimum Viable Product | A product with just enough features to satisfy early customers and provide feedback for future development. |
OS-C | OS Climate | Open source foundation project to for climate aligned investing. |
RC | Resource Catalogue | Searchable catalogue describing the datasets and workflows that are available in the hub. |
STAC | SpatioTemporal Asset Catalog | A specification for describing geospatial data that helps users search, discover, and share datasets easily and the standard used for the RC. |
TPZ | Telezpazio UK | Company developing hub platform. |
UI | User Interface | The space where interactions between humans and machines occur, specifically the visual aspect of an application. |
UKCP | United Kingdom Climate Projections | Climate projections for the UK to help understand potential future climate changes. |
UoL | University of Leicester | A public research university in Leicester, England. |
WMS | Web Map Service | A standard protocol developed by the Open Geospatial Consortium for serving georeferenced map images over the internet. |
WMTS | Web Map Tile Service | A standard for serving tiles of spatial data at multiple scales, helping with the fast delivery of maps over the web. |
